M-pact Marketing was formed by combining the unique abilities of some of the top marketing talent in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Based in Raleigh, this is an experienced, cohesive team of marketing professionals with more than 30 years in marketing, design and communications. The group made a “Marketing Pact” to one day start a company that would use their talents to help other small and medium-sized businesses grow through a blend of marketing strategy and execution.

David is a natural leader that brings a passion for helping companies grow through integrated marketing. As President of M-pact Marketing, he is responsible for building and managing client relationships as well as developing strategic roadmaps to help clients take their business to the next level. David has more than 15 years of experience in marketing strategy, execution and corporate communications. Buffaloe is a native of Raleigh, NC and holds degrees in Marketing and Business Administration from North Carolina State University.
Before starting M-pact, David was vice president of marketing at First Research, Inc. a division of Hoover’s (A D&B Company), David oversaw the development and implementation of the company's marketing strategy and managed the marketing team which was responsible for all aspects of marketing. His strategic insight was a key factor in driving the company’s success including tripling their number of users to over 80,000, boosting total subscription customers to over 1000, and the ultimate acquisition by D&B for over $25 Million.

Dede Houston, Partner and Creative Director |

As a fun, dedicated and adventurous person, Dede infuses creative energy into her work. Holding the position of Creative Director, Dede Houston brings over 15 years of creative strategy, design and marketing expertise to the table. Her wide range of experience spans from strategic marketing, including client acquisition, public relations campaigns, corporate branding and internet marketing strategies to packaging, direct mail, advertising, sales literature-collateral development, display graphics and web design.
Prior to M-pact, she served as the senior marketing lead for First Research, a division of Hoovers (a D&B company). Houston has also worked in the marketing and design departments of several other organizations including Burke Design Group, HomeMax, BuildNet and Southbend (a Middleby company).

M-pact Marketing team members believe that giving back to the community is essential to having a balanced personal life. Outside of the corporate arena, members dedicate both their time and available resources to community service.
David devotes the majority of his spare time to Hospice of Wake County (HOWC), which strives to promote and improve the Triangle community’s quality of living and dying through advance care planning, palliative (comfort) care, hospice care and bereavement services. In 2005 he helped create and coordinate the Inaugural Hospice of Wake County Golf Classic. In 2007, David took on the role of co-chairman for the Golf Classic and continues to hold the position as HOWC prepares for the 2010 event. Under his guidance the organization has raised over $146,000 over the past four years, which equates to over 907 days of patient care.
Other charitable organizations in which M-pact team members are involved include Prevent Blindness North Carolina, American Cancer Society, Stop Hunger Now and Operation Christmas Child.
